Mr. René A. Díaz obtained his degree in Economics from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pa. and has participated in various seminars and congresses on banking issues and high-level courses in management development.

He spent a 30-year career in banking, serving for the last 25 years as General Manager of Banco Internacional de Panama (Bipan). During his extensive banking career he gained a wide experience in banking and finance related issues, as well as participating in the elaboration of strategic plans for the Bank and for different commercial companies. During his long banking career he held important positions in the Panama Banking Association (ABP), of which he was its president for one term and a director for 15 consecutive years. In the PBA he chaired countless working committees, most notably the committee for the promotion of legislation on trusts and the legislation regulating financial leasing in Panama. He was representative of the banking sector before the National Securities Commission and the National Banking Commission, founding director of APABANCOS and of the company Progreso S.A., which is dedicated to the administration of pension funds.

In his business activity, he is a director of different companies among which stand out: Grupo Rey Holdings (chain of supermarkets and pharmacies in Panama), Grupo Colfinanzas S.A. (financial company dedicated to consumer loans), Multifinanciamientos S.A. (company dedicated to car financing), Clínica Hospital San Fernando (hospital services), Graphix Holdings (company dedicated to the manufacture of all types of advertisements and the rental of advertising space) and Elemento Factoring (company dedicated to the discounting of invoices). He has also served on the Boards of Directors of several non-profit organisations.

In 1974, he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. Subsequently, he studied for a Master's Degree at INCAE, obtaining in 1976, a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MAE VIII).

Mr. Henriquez was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Banco Comercial de Panama (Bancomer), where he worked for 20 years. Throughout his career Mr. Henriquez also participated as a director or member of the following companies or organizations: Varela Hermanos, Rodelag, Bolsa de Valores de Panama, Asecomer, Bancolat and Inverlat, Banking Commission of Panama, BellSouth, Telered, Banking Association of Panama, Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Panama and the National Committee of INCAE among others.

He is currently Chairman of the Boards of Directors of Gold Mills, S.A. and Calox Panama and of Banco Nacional de Panama; he also participates as a director in the following companies: Multi Holding Corporation, Aseguradora Global and ABS Trust.
